Celebrate the holiday season at Fort William Historical Park!

December 7th-8th, 2019 • 1pm to 6pm

Celebrate the holiday season at Fort William Historical Park's Ignite the Fort. This family-friendly event will kindle your holiday spirit with plenty of fun seasonal activities. The festivities will include a brilliant tree lighting ceremony to "Ignite the Fort." Following Ignite the Fort, the festivities continue with the Star of Bethlehem event at the David Thompson Astronomical Observatory from 6pm-8pm.

All Ignite the Fort ticket holders will receive $3.00-$5.00 off admission to the Star of Bethlehem on December 7th and 8th, 2019.

Access by bike or snow machine

  • Cyclists are welcome; bike racks are available
  • Snow machines cannot park at the event; there is no admission via the Kaministiquia River

Food and Beverage

  • The Cantine Restaurant will be offering a full menu (Debit, Visa, MasterCard and cash are accepted)
  • Outside food and beverages are not allowed - In the case of dietary restrictions please contact the Visitor Experiences Coordinator at (807) 473-2357 to make alternate arrangements prior to the event date
  • ATM available at the Visitor Centre

Event Rules and Regulations

  • Fort William Historical Park has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy. Any patron found to be in contravention with the rules and regulations will be dealt with accordingly.
  • Pets are not allowed at this event.

The event is a go in all weather conditions. Activites are subject to change or cancellation.
