Fort William Historical Park offers extraordinary educational opportunities for learners of all ages. Our cross-curricular education programs offer immersive experiential and sensory activities to engage your students in a memorable learning experience.

Step into the past and get connected to the people, ideas and artifacts of Fort William with unforgettable hands-on experiences that will motivate and inspire! Choose from our wide selection of programs or let us create a custom program just for you. Take an educational journey to the stars at the David Thompson Astronomical Observatory! We offer quality educational experiences year-round that highlight the many wonders of space as well as our cultural heritage.

Our programs are designed to meet the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum and cover a variety of topics, including:

  • Indigenous Studies, focusing on Anishinaabe culture, traditions and language
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), from both Indigenous and European perspectives
  • Social studies, History and Geography
  • The Arts
  • Health and Physical education, and
  • Food and nutrition.

Day Camps

Summer Day Camps

Celebrate summer at Fort William Historical Park! Our new fun and exciting day camp themes will allow you to find the adventure that fits your child’s interests. Enjoy an experience you will never forget. Travel back in time to Fort William in the 1800s, explore the historic Kaministiquia River by canoe, discover local plants and animals, visit the Anishinaabe Encampment, and more!


Young Interpreter Program

Become a historic Fort William character from 1815! Learn in-depth skills for interpreting history, crafting various artisan items, interacting with visitors, and many more valuable skills. An assigned Fort William mentor will support you during this experiential journey.

Garden & Animal Adventures
