Ignite the Fort

December 9th & 10th, 2017
Ignite the Fort - 4:00pm to 7:00pm
Star of Bethlehem - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Kindle your holiday spirit with two great events at Fort William Historical Park this season – Ignite the Fort and the Star of Bethlehem.

Ignite the Fort will feature a variety of fun, family-friendly activities including caroling, cookie decorating, toy making, wagon rides and a visit with Father Time. You’ll also have the opportunity to decorate our giant holiday tree in support of the United Way. For $1.00 you will be able to purchase a bulb for the tree. Proceeds from the tree bulb sales will be donated to the United Way. At 6:00pm, we’ll “Ignite the Fort” with a brilliant tree lighting ceremony in the Main Square. The Cantine Restaurant will also be open, serving a variety of heritage and contemporary menu offerings.

Following Ignite the Fort, the festivities continue with the Star of Bethlehem event at the David Thompson Astronomical Observatory. Launch into an evening of discovery and intrigue as you uncover the most popular opinions about the origin of the Star of Bethlehem, and explore the night sky for the Star of Bethlehem and other celestial wonders.
