Overnight Voyageur Program
1PM - 12 Noon the following Day - Sept-Oct & May-June
Travel back to the year 1816 and live the life of a North West Company voyageur in our signature immersion program! This is experiential learning at its best, where students get into costume and into role as they work alongside the Fort's inhabitants, learn new skills, and make new friendships. Novice voyageurs will help with chores on the farm, apprentice under one of the Fort's artisans to craft a memento to take home, visit the nearby Ojibwa encampment, and learn the workings of the fur trade from seasoned fur traders. And in the spirit of the voyageurs, participate in games and challenges that motivate and encourage team work. As evening approaches, the entire brigade will dine as welcome members of the Fort community. It's a hands-on trip back in time that brings history to life and leaves a lasting memory for teachers and students alike.
