McGillivray's Landing

Exterior of Visitor CentreFort William Historical Park's Visitor Centre offers world-class meeting and convention facilities complete with multi-media services for large groups or intimate gatherings. McGillivray's Landing in our Visitor Centre has state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and holds up to 500 people, making it ideal for large conferences. The room's natural décor is highlighted by full windows on three sides of the room that offer views of our pristine wilderness surroundings. McGillivray's Landing also has the flexibility to be divided into breakout rooms for smaller groups. The walls of the breakout rooms are full height and sound proofed to ensure maximum privacy and each breakout room is equipped with its own sound system.

Your group can take a break from the proceedings and refresh themselves by wandering outside onto our deck. This impressive architectural structure wraps around half of the Visitor Centre and is tiered to span a picturesque marsh. The deck also provides a sweeping view of our 20-foot high fountain and the Kaministiquia River. Visitors can sit and enjoy the breathtaking vistas or follow the deck onto our scenic trail walk that connects to our heritage site.

"Return to the Source/Kee-Way-Win" was constructed by four local artists and measures 6.6 metres high and 14.3 metres wide. The mural's harmonious combination of stained glass, wood carving, bas relief, and painted surfaces helps create a grand entryway that is the perfect setting for hosting trade shows and press conferences. The exterior of the Visitor Centre, with its façade of cedar, stone, and other natural materials, also provides a dramatic backdrop for displays and exhibits.

Enhanced electrical services and telephone connectivity available.
