We have openings for volunteers of all ages in many fascinating programs.

Immerse yourself in the life of early 19th-century Fort William - the centre of North America's vast fur trading empire - where Aboriginal trappers and traders, French Canadian voyageurs, and Scottish merchants gathered to make their fortunes.

You can help preserve Canada's heritage and be part of a major tourist attraction by volunteering in one of the following areas:

  • Garden in our luscious heritage gardens!
  • Educate children and youth participating in our summer day camps!
  • Maintain our grounds, equipment and exhibits both on and off site!
  • Cook using both historic and modern preparation methods!
  • Experience rich Ojibwa culture!
  • Assist with administrative clerical duties!
  • Sew and maintain costumes using historic and modern methods!
  • Photograph festivals and activities!
  • Create historic crafts, tools and equipment of the period!
  • Research fascinating historical information to share with our visitors!
  • Re-enact the early nineteenth century fur trade society!
