A weekend of winter fun awaits the whole family at Fort William Historical Park’s Voyageur Winter Carnival this Family Day Weekend. Come out and enjoy our giant snow maze, tubing and sliding hills, skating, winter games and activities, carnival games and contests, live indoor and outdoor entertainment, and more!

Watch the Snowmobile Stunt Show, featuring X Games and Red Bull competitors Fred Rasmussen and Brody John Wilson as they perform amazing stunts over the Kaministiquia River.

Car
Fort William Historical Park is located at 1350 King Road, Thunder Bay. Click HERE to get directions to the Park.

Thunder Bay Transit
Fort William Historical Park can be reached by taking Thunder Bay Transit Route #4, Neebing.
View the Neebing route schedule HERE. The Neebing bus does not run on Sundays or Statutory Holidays.

Snow Machines & River Access
Snow machines cannot park at the event. There is no admissions entrance via the Kaministiquia River.

What to Bring

  • Weather appropriate clothing. Voyageur Winter Carnival is an outdoor, all-weather event.
  • Ice skates and/or sleds. A skate and sled check location will be available.

Food & Beverage

  • Full menu offered in the Cantine Restaurant. Debit, Visa, MasterCard and cash accepted.
  • Gran Sasso (cash only).
  • Outside food and beverages are not allowed. In the event of a patron with dietary restrictions (i.e., allergies, etc.), please contact the Visitor Experiences Coordinator at 807-473-2357 prior to the event to make alternate arrangements.

Campground

There is no camping available at this event; the campground is closed for the season.

Event Rules & Regulations

Any patron found to be in contravention with the rules and regulations will be dealt with accordingly.

  • Fort William Historical Park has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy.
  • Hockey sticks are not allowed.
  • Pets are not allowed at any of our events.

Activity schedules may change or be cancelled in the case of extreme weather conditions.
