Agret Store

This building served as the warehouse for the storage of canoe equipments and from here they were supplied to the crews of the canoe brigades.

An agret is the equipment or kit with which each canoe was outfitted for its journey. An agret included sails, repair supplies, and cooking utensils. Sir Alexander Mackenzie lists the following items as an agret's contents: "two oil-cloths to cover the goods, a sail, an axe, a towing-line, a kettle, and a sponge to bail out the water, with a quantity of gum, bark, and watape, to repair this vessel."
