In accordance with the latest provincial directive, Fort William Historical Park will be closed to the public effective Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 12:01am for at least 21 days (until January 26, 2022), subject to trends in the public health and health systems indicators.

The construction of our new access road is well underway, however it is not open for public use at this time. Please continue to use King Road to access Fort William Historical Park. Thank you.


Explore Fort William

Step back in time to 1816 and experience the Canadian fur trade at Fort William, the magnificent inland headquarters of the North West Company. Discover Fort William’s beautiful outdoor setting and use your smart phone and tablet to access our high-definition, live action videos available in English, French and Oji-Cree via our QR code signage located across the historic site. We are pleased to announce that the farm animals have returned!

Hours: We are currently closed to guided tours.
