Come dressed in your red and white patriotic best and show off your Canadian pride. Enjoy a day filled with family-friendly festivities, exciting activities and fun contests. Explore Fort William and discover our nation’s rich heritage.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 807-473-2344 or in person at the Fort William Historical Park Visitor Centre on Canada Day.

  • Take a canoe ride along the Kaministiquia River
  • Test your aim with axe throwing, musket firing, and spear throwing

Car
Fort William Historical Park is located at 1350 King Road, Thunder Bay. Click here to get directions to the Park. Parking is free.

Thunder Bay Transit
Fort William Historical Park can be reached by taking Thunder Bay Transit Route #4, Neebing.
View the Neebing route schedule. The Neebing bus does not run on Sundays or Statutory Holidays.

Access by bike, boat or RV

  • Cyclists are welcome, bike racks will be available
  • Boats cannot dock at the event; there is no admissions entrance via the Kaministiquia River
  • RVs are only permitted in the parking lot for the duration of the event; overnight stay is only permitted in the campground with a registered campsite and a camping permit

  • Weather appropriate clothing

Food and Beverage

  • The Cantine Restaurant will be offering a full menu (Debit, Visa, MasterCard and cash are accepted)
  • Outside food and beverages are not allowed
    • In the case of dietary restrictions please contact the Visitor Experiences Coordinator at (807) 473-2357 to make alternate arrangements prior to event date
  • ATM available at the Visitor Centre

Camping

Consider staying the night at Fort William Historical Park’s RV and tent campground. 

  • Non-Serviced Site - $25/night + HST
  • Serviced Site - $35/night + HST
  • RV Rentals - $110/night + HST

*Fees for the event and other services are not included in the campsite fees.

RVs can only park in the main parking lots for day visits. Overnight camping for RVs is only permitted in the registered campground with a camping permit and campsite. Learn more about our RV and tent campground.

Any patron found to be in contravention with the rules and regulations will be dealt with accordingly.

  • Fort William Historical Park has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy
  • Pets are not allowed at this event
