Join us for Halloween Hoot, a family-friendly event that transforms the historic site into a Halloween haven. Enjoy haunted houses, trick-or-treating, creepy crafts and ghastly games, and a fantastical storybook path to help rescue fairy tale characters.

A Fairy Tale Rescue Adventure

Peter Rottentail has ripped apart the magical storybook and now the fairy tale characters are scattered across Williamstown. Complete fun activities to earn storybook stamps (and treats) to help the characters find their way home and return the storybook’s ending.

Join Narrator Rat in the Main Square with your completed storybook to help defeat Peter Rottentail and restore the fairy tales. Let’s write our own ending to this story together!

What to Bring

Weather-appropriate clothing, bug spray, sunscreen: This is an all-weather program and takes place indoors and outdoors.

Cash: There are no ATMs available on site.

Getting Here

Car: Fort William Historical Park is located at 1350 King Road, Thunder Bay. Parking is free.

Bicycle: Cyclists are welcome. Bike racks are available to use free of charge.

Thunder Bay Transit: Fort William Historical Park is accessible by the 4 Neebing bus route. Please visit the City of Thunder Bay Transit website for specific bus route information.

Boats & River Access: Boats cannot dock at events. There is no admissions entrance via the Kaministiquia River.
RVs: The campground closes for the season October 13, 2025, reopening May 2026. RVs are not permitted in the parking lot for overnight stays.
